February, 2020: The Knave of Pentacles + Bonus Mindfulness Card

Happy February, Friends! Hope all is well. It's been a mild month so far in New York, with regards to weather. And I've been keeping busy while recovering from illness...

Each day I feel a little better. A little more accomplished. A little more rested.

I am happy to share with you... two cards I drew for this month. The first comes from my traditional Tarot deck. The second comes from my Mindfulness deck. And, by chance, both happen to support each other. Here's why:

In the Knave of Pentacles, we see someone offering a part of himself. Pentacles can represent finances... but, more importantly, they bring to mind what we value in ourselves and/or others. How we value others. Things. Why we value what we value.

Pentacles can mean attributes. What we were born with. What we've been given. How what we were born with makes us unique.

Speaking of uniqueness, we'll be in Aquarius Season until February 18th.

Back in December, I drew the Ace of Coins. I interpret Aces to mean gifts. And the message for me, from that card, had to do with seeing our gifts, even day to day, in routine situations... and appreciating them.

So, what I think February and the Knave of Pentacles could mean is... putting our gifts (or a gift) to use. Or making small offers through them if we choose. Or receiving small offers from others willing to share their gifts.

There is nothing stolen here. In fact, I'd advise against theft.

But maybe something valuable has been found. Restored.

The Knave is holding his Pentacle. Valuing it. Seeing its potential. Considering how his Pentacle will be used.

And it's his.

No one else's. God/Spirit/Whatever or Whoever We Believe In/Circumstances/Developments... will make that abundantly clear.

Joining the Knave of Pentacles is the "How Can I Love More?" card from the Curiosity & Joy section of my Mindfulness deck. On the back of the card is the following:

There are few better questions than "How can I love more?"  This invites us 

to look for opportunities to connect more deeply with others in all of our relationships. 

Sometimes it will mean putting more energy into being present or generous-- even when you don't 

feel like it. Sometimes it will be about being more present and generous with yourself-- even if 

that feels self-indulgent. Spend 5 minutes thinking about how you can cultivate more love 

for yourself and for those around you. However, it manifests itself, 

it is a beautiful filter through which 

to engage with your world.

Whether we've established 50 (familial, friendly, professional, loving, etc.) relationships with others... or three, this month may bring opportunities in which to solidify (Pentacles) some of them.

The Knave of Pentacles chooses which one(s).

We choose which one(s).

If you wish to work on the relationship you have with yourself, go for it. How you feel about yourself, and your own gifts and attributes-- what you have to work with, will radiate towards others.

The Knave of Pentacles can represent preservation (of ourselves or something we value). We see him holding a coin that happens to be in excellent condition. Almost like keeping a collectible in excellent condition.

Again... we are in Aquarius Season... but currently in a Leo full moon phase. Aquarius brings to mind friendships, networks... and Leo is about love, self-love, protection, strength, and loyalty. This combination serves as a great reminder that... we are gifts, too. To ourselves and/or others.

Yes. People are gifts. Even if others may not see it. Even if others prefer not to see it. Even if others attempt to make us feel unworthy.

The Knave of Pentacles demonstrates his worth... and/or self-worth. Sometimes we make choices in order to preserve our relationships with ourselves and others. Our self-worth and the self-worth of others.

Finally, consider cherishing and being grateful for even the smallest opportunities at your disposal, for they can teach us a lot! Don't forget Pentacles can mean skills...
