Happy New Year Says the Magician (Plus A Little Bonus)!

Hello everyone! Happy New Year. Hope you are all doing well and are happy.

I was delighted to pull this card for January 1st, the Magician. It tells me that throughout the month of January, we'll have the focus necessary to proceed with our affairs.

Everything we may want or need, all our tools, are on the table. Right in front of us.

If some need a little help in the motivation department, in the faith department, I recommend calling upon a higher power.

Notice that the Magician points upward.

If it's God, super.

If it's a different deity, super.

If it's the God in your own unique spiritual relationship, fantastic.

The Magician operates solo. An entire army can be against him. But his humility and his faith in a force beyond himself are so big...

Faith can move mountains. Or prevent mountains from being moved.

Depends on our perception.

What matters is (a) who the Magician answers to and (b) whether the Magician uses his power, his abilities, wisely, honestly. Because power of certain magnitude can be detrimental to the holder. And to those around him/her.

There is a ton of potential in the Magician. But his ideas and intentions matter. His words matter. Where he directs his energy and attention matters.

I wouldn't worry much, considering the Magician is upright. What this tells me is he is being given a choice about how he uses his power.

A chance.

And it can make or break a situation.

Otherwise, this is a favorable card to draw at the beginning of 2020.

The second card I've drawn comes from my Mindfulness deck. I purchased these from Paper Source and think it's brilliant.

So. : )

The card for the month of January, 2020 is... Reflect Joy. And on the back is the following message:

Consider doing something that makes you or someone else happy this month. Even if it means tidying up a kitchen, wiping down work stations (surfaces/desks), bringing someone leftovers to a loved one, sharing an item, saying hello-- not because you have to... but because it makes others happy.

That happiness we bring others can bounce back to us. But that's not the point of sharing, of generosity.

The point is to make others happy. To brighten up a space that could use a little brightening.

Of course... the choice is there to attempt to make others unhappy. But on this blog, I do things differently.

I roll differently. And it's OK if it's not your cup of tea.

Hope you have a wonderful month! All best.

Sincerely,

Deborah Steinberg
