June, 2018: The Knave of Chalices

Well, here's a friendly face I haven't seen in a while... although, honestly, after April's draw, I'd be OK with the Tower, Death, Three of Swords, Ten of Swords, Seven of Swords, Ten of Wands, Nine of Wands, Seven of Wands, and so on and so on, etc.

So.  The Knave of Chalices, at least to me is kindness personified.

This card may represent an offer or invitation, a small opportunity or proposal, little tokens of appreciation, manners, compliments, toasts, and subtle acts of kindness.  For instance, think: "Hi, have coffee with me."

The offer represented here is expected in a way.  That is, it's not shocking but still appreciated.  I mean if you perceive the person making the offer as the Knave of Chalices, then we're talking about a pretty sweet offer or one your little heart wants, maybe even needs...

Same goes for a proposal, perhaps to work together on a certain project or put an idea into practice.  Yes, YOU may be ALL FOR A plan, but you won't show it much because that's the Knave of Chalices up there and NOT the SUN.

The Sun is pretty much Snoopy doing the Snoopy dance, OK?

So, even though your insides might be screaming with excitement and joy, even though you might be dancing like Snoopy on the inside, even though you want to jump-jump like Kris Kross, your classy-@ss self will probably not display these feelings.

Yeah. Like you're gonna show another person how happy you are about all this, dude.  Like you're gonna show him/her/them the power he/she/they has/have over you.  Like you're gonna be anything but smooth, suave and too cool for school... or whatever-- AS IF, mofos.

(No worries.  The contentment in your eyes will give you away.)

And WHAT IF the chance we take here turns out to be a disaster?  What.  IF.

Chill.  I think we can put the anxiety away for this one.  But, oh yes, a little chance will be taken here whether you're the Knave of Chalices or the person approached and addressed by the sweet and cute and ACTUALLY SHY Knave of Chalices.

Aside from caffeinated beverages that make some of us happy, the Knave of Chalices may be about chicken soup, lotions, healing balm, poetry and prose and sweet messages, friend requests on social media, and/or... just something that we know matters to, and possibly soothes, us or someone else (especially after a rough effing ride).  The Knave Of Chalices helps make us feel good about ourselves.

I appreciate the sincerity and effort and quiet bravery the Knave of Chalices demonstrates.  I hope you focus on why you're appreciated and on what you appreciate.

Toast another person's efforts and accomplishments.  Toast your own (however small or large).

Thank you for reading my crap and may June be a wonderful month for you...

  1. OK, I just made chicken soup today (one day early, I know), AND I was unexpectedly offered a bunch of shifts for my casual job at the college here. That totally made me do the Snoopy dance internally, but I did not show it so as to maintain professionalism.

Sooooo I would say this article is highly accurate. And your posts are always wonderful, intuitive, and rich, not sucky in the least.
